Election Date: May 12, 2015

Polling Places: Regular Voting Precincts in the Bethany School District

Polls Open: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm

The Need: To vote on a $5,015,000 School Bond Issue, to be issued in series, for Bethany Public Schools for the following purposes:

  1. Expand Elementary/Middle School Media Center by constructing 1,100 square feet of additional instructional space. (E.S., M.S.)
  2. Expand Auditorium to include an additional 222 seats, expanded stage, restrooms and backspace upgrades. (District Wide)
  3. Construct two high school classrooms due to auditorium expansion. (H.S.)
  4. Land acquisition for construction and parking. (District Wide)
  5. Construct 1,000 square foot STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Building north of ECC with a propose additional 1,875 square feet for future expansion. (District Wide)
  6. Parking lot provided to allow for 14 spaces at the ECC. (E.S.)
  7. New entry element at the west entry to the High School and north entry between the Auditorium expansion and the Gymnasium. (H.S.)
  8. Technology and Security upgrades. (District Wide)

* Must have 60% vote majority

What is the Bethany Public School Foundation?

An Educational Endowment

The Bethany Public Schools Foundation was established on October 15, 1997. It is a broad based,
non-profit, community organization whose purpose is to secure and distribute contributions from
individuals, corporations, and foundations for the benefit of the students in the Bethany Public Schools.

The Foundation's intent is to highlight the achievement of students, teachers, and district
administrators and advocate for what is positive in the public school system.

Mission Statement

To provide Encouragement and Resources to Enhance and Enrich the Educational Opportunities of the Students and Faculty of Bethany Public Schools.

The Importance of Education

Bethany is a community that believes education is vitally important and that the quality of education is reflected both in individual success and in the success of the community.

Academic Projects

The Grants-to-Teachers Program provides teachers with grants for the development and implementation of innovative teaching projects. Teachers will submit ideas for the projects to the Allocation Committee who prioritize grants based on imaginative projects which inspire students, generate enthusiasm, and promote academic excellence.
